Today was a monumentous day. Not only Doug's birthday but we had decided that we were going to take a bus through the Meseta. We did not make the decision lightly as we really wanted to walk the whole thing. My feet are not doing well, we would have had to walk some really long days, the Meseta is flat, very hot and no shade, I am a wimp in the heat, and bottom line is that we wanted to enjoy our days. There is a fine line between walking and seeing the beauty of Spain and walking and not enjoying the day because we need to do 20 miles.
So, we are in Leon for 2 days, resting our feet, and will start walking on Monday for another 20 days or so.
Leon is a beautiful city with another gothic cathedral. The night life and energy is pleasant. We found a hotel for 2 nights at the city center that was reasonable. As always dinner was yummy!
